You came to Montana for Montana, not a cookie cutter rental in town. The Cabins at Wheat Ridge Farm sit on a working family farm where wildlife wander past your window, the Bridgers Mountains light up at sunrise & the stars actually look like stars. Inside: 2 queen bedrooms, slofa sleeper sofa, full kitchen, gas fireplace, fire pit & decks made for slow mornings. Downtown Bozeman is 10 miles away. Bridger Bowl, Big Sky, & Yellowstone are close. This is the real Montana, but with all the luxury.
The space
Sleeping Arrangements: Bedroom 1: Queen bed Bedroom 2: Queen bed Living room: Queen Slofa Sleeper brand sleeper sofa - “easy to use, easy to snooze!” Sleeps 6 guests What You'll Love: You didn't travel all this way to stare at a parking lot or wake up to traffic noise. We are a 4th generation Montana farm family, and we built this 1,000 sq ft cabin for travelers who want the real Big Sky Country without giving up a single modern comfort. Mornings start with panoramic views of the Bridger and Tobacco Root Mountains. Pour your coffee, step onto the deck, and watch the deer move across our working farm while the peaks turn gold. Spend your day chasing whatever brought you here. Carve fresh tracks at Bridger Bowl (28 miles) or Big Sky (40 miles). Cast a line into blue-ribbon trout streams. Lose yourself in Yellowstone (85 miles). When the day winds down, come home to your cabin, fire up the grill, and settle in around the firepit as the sky fills with more stars than you thought existed. Inside the Cabin: 👩🏻🍳Full kitchen with all the amenities ♨️Gas fireplace for cozy evenings ⛰️Large windows framing mountain views 🫧Washer and dryer for extended stays 🛜High-speed WiFi and AC 🛋️TV and comfortable living area Outdoor Spaces: 🗻Covered front porch with mountain views 🌄Covered back deck for sunrise and sunset 🔥Gas firepit for evening gatherings 🫕BBQ grill for outdoor cooking The Location: 📍3 miles: Restaurants, brewery, distillery 📍10 miles: Downtown Bozeman & MSU 📍12 miles: Bozeman Airport 📍15 miles: Hyalite Canyon hiking 📍28 miles: Bridger Bowl 📍40 miles: Big Sky Resort 📍85 miles: Yellowstone National Park The Experience: This is a working farm where we grow hay, wheat, and barley. It's the real Montana, not the postcard version, and that's exactly what makes a stay here different from anywhere else. Grand Opening Special: Be among our very first guests and enjoy special introductory rates. Early visitors also get exclusive returning guest offers as the property continues to evolve. Guest Access: The entire cabin is yours for your stay. The Roaming Elk sits alongside our two other cabins on the farm, with a neighboring ranch across the road, so this isn't a remote hideaway tucked into the wilderness. What it offers instead is something better for most travelers: real peace and quiet, your own private deck and porch, and wide-open views of farmland and mountains. You're close to everything Bozeman has to offer, and a world away from the noise of it. Welcome to the Cabins at Wheat Ridge Farm. Welcome to the Montana you came for!

Our stay at Chris’s place was nothing short of wonderful! It is everything you could want in a cabin in Montana- quiet, secluded, and breathtaking surroundings. Our families favorite part was sitting on the back porch in the morning and evening and enjoying the fire pit. The cabin is brand new and well stocked with everything you could want- including a little basket of things you may have forgotten. By far the best Air BnB we have stayed at. Chris was extremely responsive and replied to a message within 5 minutes. This says a lot about how much he cares about his guests. Our family found the location to be perfect- about 20 minutes from downtown Bozeman and an hour from Big Sky. I can’t say enough good things about this slice of paradise in Montana! Don’t hesitate to book!

Our cabin was fantastic. We fell in love with it and with Montana as well. Everything is so fresh and new. It's a fantastic design and workmanship. Fully equipped in every way. They thought of it every little detail. Comfort and beauty. My favorite part was the incredible view from the huge sliding glass doors. The mountains were so vibrant. And the sunset in the West was indescribable. We liked that it was off the beaten path with beautiful views, but a convenient drive to all the fun places. Chris could not have been a better host. We'd love to go back.

Great location on top of a hill, next to a farm that grows straw or related grass. Great views, comfortable, clean.

Stayed at this beautiful and well appointed place for the last two days of my 8 day trip to Montana. Just far enough outside of Bozeman to feel like you are in Montana. Beautiful scenery with stunning and panoramic views of the Bridger Mountain Range. Place lacked nothing and the hosts were great and highly responsive to any of my questions. Book without reservations as this place and the other two on either side are carbon copies. Close to all the great outdoorsy areas like Yellowstone, Big Sky, and several fishing and hiking areas. Will be back again when visiting Bozeman.

Where do I begin? The house was wonderful. From the moment we walked in, it was cozy, clean and had everything you could need or want. The location is wonderful if you’re looking for quiet. It was so peaceful sitting on the deck in the morning and watching the deer play in the field. The house is close to shopping and downtown Bozeman. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place. Thank you for the great experience. We will be back!

Chris’ place is the perfect getaway spot. It’s beautifully furnished and exceeded our expectations! Chris hasn’t missed a thing! There was even a basket of essentials we might have forgotten (nice touch). We loved morning coffee watching the sunrise and the deer that paid a visit. We would love to stay at Chris’s place again on our next visit.

We enjoyed our stay so much at the beginning of our trip that we ended our trip at the farm. With the location so close to the airport it was a no brainer. We could not pass up the chance of one more night on the back porch. We were able to do some laundry and have a good meal which was what we needed before a long day of travel.

We are so grateful for our time at the Roaming Elk Cabin, it was truly special. The home is beautiful, the views & wildlife are incredible, and the peace you feel on the back deck is something I will never forget. We feel lucky to have been among the first guests and can't wait to come back for another visit.

My wife and I enjoyed a few days away from Houston summer heat in the Roaming Elk cabin. Chris and Charity have built three beautiful, new cabins literally in the middle of a wheat farm just outside of Bozeman. Yet it was close to everything. We loved the views of the mountains and enjoyed the wildlife sightings as well (deer, red fox, prairie chickens and more). The cabin itself was new with thoughtful touches throughout. Chris was highly responsive to any issues during our stay. Would be happy to stay there again.

Wow! What a gem! These beautiful cabins are brand new, beautiful, and in a peaceful location with gorgeous mountain views! We couldn’t have asked for more. Great location for exploring Bozeman and the surrounding areas. There are so many special touches and treats to make guests feel welcome and at home. Chris and his family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was top notch. We hope to return!!
